River of Life

A faith-based transitional house in Polk County, Oregon, for men and women recently released from jail or prison. Too many find doors closed when released due to a lack of housing and/or the inability to find employment.

Matthew 25:35-36

"For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me a drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me."

Safe and Sober

The River of Life House provides a safe, sober, Christian environment where men and women recently released from jail or prison may get some help to begin to rebuild their lives. It is our belief that everyone deserves a second chance.

The River of Life House is sponsored by the Christian men and women of Dallas, Oregon that believe strongly in Prison Ministry, both for incarcerated men and women that have already served their sentences.

The truly amazing thing...

...about working in a ministry is the way new opportunities to do God's work continue to branch out from the original trunk. What begins as a small seedling, with God's direction, can flourish into a mighty oak tree that reaches to the heavens.

We are a group of Christian men and women who believe that Christ died so that everyone might have a second chance. Our ministry includes individuals who live a lifestyle that embraces lawlessness (street ministry), those who are currently incarcerated (prison ministry), and those who are attempting to re-enter society (re-entry ministry).

God has given us the opportunity through The River of Life House to to create a Christ-centered, safe, stable, semi-structured residence for men and women, where they can receive support, encouragement and accountability to successfully transition back into society.

Jesus said, "Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me."

"Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise Your name; the righteous shall surround me, for You shall deal bountifully with me." -Psalms 142:7

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a place for men and women to live while they learn to develop responsibility, productivity, integrity, accountability and healthy life choices in a Christ-centered, Bible-based environment.

The River of Life was presented to John in a vision (Rev. 22:1). Accompanying the river, John was told there will no longer be any curse and there will be no more night. We believe this is very appropriate for someone leaving his/her old life behind and embracing a new beginning.

"But when the wicked turns from his wickedness and does what is lawful and right, he shall live because of it." -Ezekiel 33:19
